About Us
We offer small group, position-specific instructional sessions and skill & drill nights in the Fall and Winter for children ages 8 to 17.
Led by former Major Leaguer Shawn Barton, Shawn Barton Defensive Baseball Skills Camp is dedicated to teaching today’s most forgotten part of the game — DEFENSE. Shawn is a highly qualified, professional instructor and his personal philosophies on leadership and approach to the game will help build the foundation for not only being a better player, but also a better leader and teammate.
Shawn believes his calling is to teach the game of baseball but more importantly to have a positive impact on young people’s lives with his personal philosophies and approach to baseball.
Instructional sessions are high-intensity, high-energy sessions and they are designed to teach defensive mechanics and fundamentals that will help develop a player’s defensive game. Skill & drill nights are designed to help players get their reps, maintain baseball shape, improve proper defensive fundamentals, and develop repeatable actions that are needed to be a successful defender.
Practice Location
Practice sessions are held at Midlothian's brand new state of the art facilities with turf infield and grass outfield.

We take the hard part out of learning to play defense because we have field access, machines, catch partners, and the best instructor, Shawn Barton. All you need to do is show up with a glove and a hard-working attitude, and we take care of everything else.
Fall and Winter Sessions Available
2024 Fall / Winter Season: Nov 18th - Jan 16th
Session 1: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Session 2: 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Mon, Tue, & Thu
Sessions are limited to 25 players max. Student can pick one session time per day. Note: Both sessions cover the same fundamentals to allow all parents and students flexible times.
